That season actually begins today as the girls basketball, bowling, and swim teams begin official practice and boys basketball and wrestling are set to officially begin practice next Monday. All athletes are reminded that physicals need to be up to date and on file in the athletic / activities office before you are able to participate. We encourage all Warrior Fans to support all of our athletic / activity programs by looking at all of our 2018-19 schedules at

The Norwalk Warrior Volleyball traveled to Dallas Center Grimes last week in search of their first ever state tournament appearance in a regional final against the Fillies. Unfortunately, the Warriors came up short of that elusive achievement as DCG overcame a strong Warrior effort in the first set winning 25-21 and then easily took sets two and three (25-11 & 25-15) to advance to this week’s State Volleyball Tournament in Cedar Rapids. Norwalk was led by Camryn Gilchrist who finished the night with 6 kills and 9 digs. Hanna Reeg had 5 kills while Jalyn Simon and Abby Allmon added 4 kills apiece. Emily Ellis and Bailey Hochstein finished with 11 and 10 assists respectively and Maddy Zimmerman led the defense with 18 digs. The Warriors finish the season with an overall mark of 20-21.

The only event this week is the Debate Team traveling to Carlisle for their debate at 5:30

Success in all of Norwalk athletics & activities is the ultimate goal, but the lesson learned in the journey to success is what we value more than wins, losses, or ratings. The lessons we teach and what the participants learn is what prepares them for success in life. The performance of our coaches, sponsors, and directors of our programs is more dependent on how they perform in the journey with those participants and not in the end result.
