It’s tennis time! After missing the 2020 season, the Norwalk girls tennis team has had a great start to the 2021 season. The players are excited to get out on the courts and are looking forward to competing this season.
The Warriors graduated four seniors (Jordan Bandy, Alli Kreider, Tevka Lackmann and Caia Niemeyer) from the 2019/2020 varsity lineup. Bandy and Kreider were part of two team runner-up finishes at the LHC conference meet in 2018 and 2019. The 2019 team finished with an overall dual record of 8-6.
The 2021 season sees several new faces in the lineup for Norwalk. The Warriors bring back one returning letterwinner, junior Olivia Johnson. Johnson returns in 2021 as the team captain. Johnson is working her way back from a knee injury and has continued to be very dedicated, determined and working hard to be able to compete again.
There are several players vying for varsity spots this season. Those players include Charlee Peters (12), Bianca Bakley (11), Sami Aagard (10), Kelsey Dammeier (10), Madison Haskell (10), Katie Thielen (10), Blu Atha-Abbott (9), Grace Dehmer (9), Ava Johnson (9), Anya Kallenbach (9), Katie Larson (9), and Tessa Livingston (9).
